Cooperative Efforts

“Where there is no vision, the people perish," goes the often-quoted Proverb, but another version of the same passage reads, "Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint."

Church Planting Movements depend on the cooperative efforts of scores of passionate believers with different talents and temperaments who set aside their differences to achieve God’s perfect plan for an unreached people group. The only thing that binds these diverse teams together and compels them to restrain their differences is a shared vision. Without a common vision, they will cast off restraint and the people they
are trying to reach will perish.

As team members transitioned out of successful church plants, and with years of experience working in the culture, each team family is now engaged in separate strategies and locations. Their diverse strategies include efforts to plant a youth church, a church targeting the twenties and thirties clubbing culture, a simple church network, and a strategy focused on developing local discipling partnerships while helping another local church launch a church plant / second campus. At the same time as team members diversified strategies and locations, and animosities within declined, the increasingly saw their aims as mutual and greater
cooperation ensued.
