Strategy

Trusting God for salvation can be far too simple for arrogant leaders. God graciously offers Himself; yet they chose "horses" instead. They spurn God’s grace and tried to manufacture their own salvation. The strategists thought that cavalry was the equalizer in the confrontation with the enemy. On the contrary, declares a prophet, those horses will only aid them in fleeing from their enemy. The enemy cavalry will be every bit as swift as any horses they might employ. Those who rely on strength or speed to deliver them from an enemy will someday find an enemy that is swifter and stronger.

And so, we in mission, seem to think much less of strategy than we should because even though history may prove to have ignored God in their strategy, today we employ strategy as an expression of both faith and faithfulness.
